Perennial Love Poesy

Like a tree's deciduous shed although, leaving it all bare a promise of a green herald of spring is rendered over its hand. The tree howbeit, yet the same sturdy, shouldering every passing bird a rest,  stands still, tall and mighty. Indistinguishable, is the love that we share.  Like the tree out stretching its exposed arms embracing both fall and fame with a flair,  we too await the harbinger of hope, despite every despair. An annual change, seldom does alter a love that is true.  Like the tree withstanding gales myriad battles have been conquered by us too. But unlike, the tree deciduous with parting leaves, our love shall bloom evergreen, in every verse we meet. The miles, the uncertainties may part us regardless, but neither the earth's revolutions nor a change in calendar can decipher how far we've arrived surpassing each precariousness. A cyclone or a drought may perish after all.  Us and the tree. But, till eternity my lines 'll read aloud  thy love...

The New She

Image
//The New She// Dressed in glittering sarees with a face heavily coated in makeup I once sashayed through the city's crowded intersections. Outcasted! was it my fault that I lost even my only blood connections?  I clapped on the faces calling me a sin, turning around, do you know? I too cried a tear unseen. Knitting, weaving was all that I knew, Interlocking loops was my passion discovered only by a few. Creation was my work, seldom did I ever destroy anything, then why was I often shackled in such stereotypical string?  But, never did I let myself consume, the darkness that once occupied my room.  It was a change, I set my heart on the hands that once went begging, now a creator thereupon.  The woman in me knew no bound Once perplexed, choosing the societal gender,  now its "the new she" that I found.   @pari-phrasis

How Not to Break a Heart

Image
When out of time he went a bit,  To pick her up from school he skipped a lunch for his munchkin.  Back pain he suffered, struggled a smooth glide,  yet never refused to lend her an amusing horse ride. When burnt was the roti, oversalted went the curry,  she was still lauded and the meal got devoured in a hurry. He bustled the whole day,  but, never forgot a birthday.  He said 'yes', when her plea got totally rejected with a 'no'. Too silly were his jokes, but, enough to stop the crying. She failed a hundred times but, was forever encouraged to keep the trying.  In the world of miseries and heartbreaks, when things went hard on her part,  it was her 'father', who knew it well, 'how not to break a heart' .  ~pari-phrasis

It Is You

Image
It Is You  For as long as I can remember, it was your embrace that veiled all my blunder. When pills failed to decrease the pain, It was your hand caressing my forehead,  worked the best to relieve my stubborn migraine. My love for coffee may lessen overtime, but it is still the smell of your 'chai', forever afresh in my mind. When as a kid in dreams I got terrified, it was you, I found beside me, making me feel fortified. Little are these instances,  I wonder how far I'd go if I begin to trace your influences.  Your divine 'anchal' protected me, always from every evil eye, It is you, Maa, in a poem,  I fail to describe. @pari-phrasis

I Choose To Glitz 🌙

Image
I Choose to Glitz  Abrupt, a thought of you  strikes the midnight mind,  oscillating flashbacks of days spent intertwined. Endeavoring everything, do your heart remember?  we once wished to make it together. Gone are those days,  today, I'm left bisected. Half remained with me,  the other you heisted.  Half too is the moon, to whom I solicit your arrival.  Natheless, edifies me a lustur within; half or full, or how dark the abyss, like that half moon, I too choose to glitz.  _ pari-phrasis

Distance

Image
She draped herself a red saree, those deep kohl lined eyes, made her look no less a fairy. He woke up to his beloved, spellbound, by her beauty. Her shyness, betrayed her cheeks to go red; 'Your favorite colour,' she uttered, 'my sweetie'. He wouldn't blink even if the world would crumble;  utterly desperate he went, to feel his deity. Interruption, a sudden, arose in their enchantment,  his phone screen went black, trespassing every ability.  Those 5 minutes, in between, rechecking, aching, seemed to them an eternity, It was the distance again, disturbing their connectivity. A smile whether sweet, or a tear a saline, they prattled a while, soliciting an intimacy.  But, their love, howbeit, defeated every mile with an unbeatable velocity.  Those lips, those arms though remained unwrapped, her eyes, his gaze, natheless, comforted them a forever certainty ~pari-phrasis

Come, Unsettle With Me .

Image
Let's make the contradictions fall in love. Your love for coffee unsettling with me preferring tea. Your love for long drives unsettling with my choice for candle light dinners. Your love for suspense thriller and my for romance. Your this and my that.  Bullying and laughing at each other's choice. Trying hardest way possible to prove I am the best, and you the least. I being me and you you.  Where expression of love is an 'I hate you'. Unsettled, yet being highly occupied by love. Let's unfold our dissimilarities together and create a world rare, but beautiful, where unselltlements are the ones most blissful. Where you are the sun, and I be the rain, utterly distinct, yet together forming a rainbow flamboyant. Let's celebrate oneness with beautiful differences.  Come, unsettle with me.  ~pari-phrasis
